Kaiserau

Just a few kilometers south of Admont, at 1,100 meters above sea level, an impressive high plateau reveals itself – the Kaiserau, a natural landscape that delights in every season. It is especially popular with families and beginners, and offers ideal conditions for a relaxed day of skiing minus the crowds.

While the Kaiserau doesn’t boast a huge expanse of slopes, it is ultra easy to navigate and as safe as can be – which is a real plus for families with children. Two T-bar tows and a modern platter lift bring winter sports enthusiasts comfortably up the mountain. For our youngest guests, there is a kids' area with two magic carpets designed specifically for those first attempts on skis. The slopes range from easy to intermediate and are groomed to perfection.

Nestled between the peaks of the Gesäuse and the Haller Mauern, the region offers not only a breathtaking mountain backdrop, but also perfectly maintained ski trails for beginner and experienced XCers alike. The cross-country trails are varied and run mostly through open sunshine. As you glide along with rhythmic strides, your gaze inevitably drifts to the awe-inspiring panorama of the surrounding mountains of the Gesäuse region.

The Admonter Kalbling is enthroned majestically above the region, with its imposing surroundings affording perfect terrain for ski tourers, snowshoers, hikers, mountaineers, and nature lovers – or simply inviting you to sit down, kick back, and soak up the sunshine. Here, alpine beauty meets peaceful relaxation. Experience winter with all your senses – in the midst of untouched nature and far from the bustle of those mega ski resorts elsewhere. A place to slow down and recharge – this is what the Kaiserau ski area is all about.

In summer, the Kaiserau becomes a paradise for families and outdoor recreation, featuring an adventure playground, a themed discovery trail, a pump track, and a variety of hiking paths for young and old alike.
